Hi, I’m Nickson Matowo, the founder of Discount Treks and your Chief Encourager & Summit Motivator. If climbing Kilimanjaro was easy, everyone would do it. But that’s where I come in!
With 10 years of guiding experience, I’ve made it my mission to ensure that every climber who joins us reaches the summit safely, with a big smile (or at least a tired one). Kilimanjaro is more than just a mountain to me, it’s my second home. I know every rock, every turn, and every secret resting spot.
I’ve seen it all: climbers dancing at 4,000 meters, others swearing they’ll never hike again (until they reach the summit and change their minds), and even some who ask, “Are we there yet?” 500 times. But no matter the challenge, I’m here to motivate, inspire, and sometimes even sing to keep the spirits high.
My best advice? Take it slow, drink lots of water, and always listen to your guide (yes, that’s me!). At Discount Treks, we don’t just guide, we create memories that last a lifetime.
